Our journey of compassion and hope
“Mountain Rescue NC” is a nonprofit organization committed to providing disaster relief, recovery, and rebuilding support to the communities of Western North Carolina. Founded in the wake of Hurricane Helene, our mission is to ensure that no one faces hardship alone. Through a combination of volunteer efforts, donations, and partnerships, we deliver essential services such as emergency shelter, hot meals, clean-up assistance, and long-term rebuilding projects. We are dedicated to helping our neighbors rise above the storm and empowering communities to rebuild stronger and more resilient.
Despite the heartbreak we will weather this storm and make 2025 Toy Drive another success.

Mountain Rescue NC has proudly served residents across Western North Carolina, including Buncombe County (Swannanoa, Black Mountain), Mitchell County (Spruce Pine), Rutherford County (Rutherfordton, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock), McDowell County (Old Fort, Mill Creek, Marion), Yancey County (Burnsville), and Macon County, bringing relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts to those impacted by disaster.

At Mountain Rescue NC, we believe no one should face hardship alone — especially the most vulnerable among us. While our roots are in disaster relief and recovery, we’ve grown into so much more. We are proud to announce the expansion of our services to reach deeper into our communities and provide hope, help, and healing to those who need it most.

- Disabled adults and individuals with chronic medical needs

- School social workers and community organizations advocating for at-risk youth
