FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mountain Rescue NC Expands to Centralize Long-Term Relief and Recovery for WNC
CLEVELAND COUNTY, North Carolina – October 21, 2024 – Mountain Rescue NC, a volunteer-driven nonprofit, proudly announces its expanded mission as a centralized distribution center and operational hub, providing essential relief and recovery services to Western North Carolina. In addition to serving families and individuals in need, Mountain Rescue NC is now equipped to receive, store, and properly disperse donated goods, freeing up space at overrun facilities and streamlining relief efforts across the region, as well as provide weekly transportation to all facilities that are being utilized as donation sites.
As part of this new initiative, Mountain Rescue NC will implement a robust logistical operations plan to efficiently manage donations, ensuring that resources are readily available and distributed as needed during each phase of relief, recovery, and rebuilding. By serving as a central hub, Mountain Rescue NC will play a critical role in supporting communities affected by natural disasters and other crises, helping both individuals and other organizations manage and coordinate their relief efforts.
“We are excited to expand our operations to serve as a key resource for both our community and other local organizations,” said Jennifer Fredell-Saucier, founder of Mountain Rescue NC. “By becoming a distribution hub, we are better equipped to handle large-scale donations and help ensure that critical supplies reach the areas where they are needed most. This will allow us to relieve the pressure on overrun facilities and provide a more efficient approach to resource management.”
Strategic Partnerships and Long-Term Support
In addition to its operational growth, Mountain Rescue NC is forming strategic partnerships with corporations and organizations committed to long-term relief efforts. These partnerships will play an essential role in facilitating assistance across all areas of need, ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of relief and recovery initiatives throughout Western North Carolina.
“Our partnerships are key to building a strong and enduring network of support,” said Fredell-Saucier. “We are aligning with corporations and organizations that are in this for the long haul. Together, we can deliver more comprehensive assistance, from immediate relief efforts to long-term rebuilding and recovery.”
Why This Matters
Mountain Rescue NC’s enhanced logistical operations will ensure that donations are distributed more efficiently, helping communities recover faster and more effectively. By storing surplus items until they are needed and acting as a resource management hub, the organization is alleviating pressure on facilities overwhelmed with donations, allowing for better planning and resource allocation.
